Delta Lloyd was looking to communicate with its employees in a more personal, innovative, and interactive way that will make new hires ready for more quicker. Appical provides the technology and helped developing the process.

Pro-actively responding to customers needs is important to Delta Lloyd, and so they wished to translate this approach to an onboarding program where the end-user employee is a customer just as well.

The challenge

Our previous onboarding ‘program’ was a quarterly meeting, and it often took place too late for new employees, leading to very little added value. We were looking for a way to give our employees a warm welcome and to inform and enthuse them in a clear manner about Delta Lloyd. In addition, we wanted to extend our online-focused strategy and use it to influence our own people.

The advantages of the app

The solution

The app ensures that every employee receives the same information before and after the first working day in a fun, interactive way. The various features in the app keep the program fresh and engaging and demonstrates the various working methods. The feedback feature in the app is very valuable to us, especially for since it can be later used on a larger scale.
We also use the app with temp-workers from the employment agency. In short: the easily adaptable content is greatly valuable in a dynamic organization and sector.

Coffee time

It’s quite customary for new employees to sit down for a cup of coffee with a teammate on the first day or at least in the first week. Through the app you know in advance who is the buddy in your team and which ‘people of interest’ your colleague advises you to have coffee with.

The app allows new employees, as well as their managers, to monitor progress in the app. DL also works with flex workers, and with Appical we can ensure that everyone receives the same information before and after the first working day on a fun, interactive way.
